Kuma's interest in music started at a very young age. At the age of 14 he began experimenting with cassette tapes making compilations and dub tapes for his friends and classmates. As his passion for music grew stronger he began to hang out at the local clubs watching DJs perform. That influenced him even more and he started learning to DJ. Kuma played his first gig at the age of 16 for a private party. He got his first residency at the age of 19 in a hill holiday resort. That was when he first experienced dance music.

Dj kuma has played in clubs such as Emporium, Nouvo, Qbar, Zouk, Atmosphere, Barcode, Tube, Warehouse135, Vudu, Absinth, Industry, Ariels house, Tides Hotel, Juice Bar,Mint Bar,Solo,Embassy,Club Lime,the world famous Sound Club,Solo Room3. He has performed along-side artists such as Mauro Picotto, Vicky Devine(slinky), Daniel Bailley(slinky), Scott Mac(gatecrasher), Less Ham Stock(gatecrasher), Nick Riley(gatecrasher), Kokimura and Timo Maas to name a few.

As his fans grew bigger, his music traveled further, playing his legendary 6 hour sets in south east asia Manila,Koh Samui Thailand, Cebu Island. Dj kuma was the first Malaysian DJ to be invited to play at the world famous Bora Bound Summer party in the Balearic island of Boracay wich has featured international artiste such as Miguel Migs,Steve Lawler,Lee Burridge,Satoshi Tomiie,Lisa Loud,Chicane,Infusion,Dave Seamen,Danny Howells,Lenny Ibizarre,Ken Ishii,Steve Porter,Danny Rampling,Paul Van Dyk,Grant Nelson,Colette,Desym Masiello,Aldrin and Nathan Coles to name a few. He was also a regular guest in DJ Chinoise's vinyl frontier radio show on Red FM 104.9,Turn It Up on Capital Fm,Late Nite Dance Suria Fm and has been recently featured in the Essentials album by Ad Lib Records. Dj Kuma now holds the EDM sessions at the WareHouse Kuala Lumpur.
